Five CGEF girls sponsored by the CGEF in Nigeria, have written essays detailing their views on Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in the run up to the International Day of Ending Violence against Women on 25th November 2016.
The Commonwealth Secretariat is hosting an event to mark this day, with a film screening, panel discussion and lunch. The film is about Nancy Tomee, who was sponsored in Kenya by the CGEF in 2011 after running away from home and refusing to be 'cut'.
