On average over the past five years, we have sponsored 7 girls per year in Lesotho.
The following story is from one of our beneficiaries, highlighting her ambition and the obstacles that prevented her from completing secondary school before she was sponsored.
To protect her identity, the name of the girl has been changed.
Agnes’s Story
“Due to your kindness, I have just completed my Junior Certificate Examinations and I obtained a first class”
2018 was a challenge for learners across Lesotho due to a number of teachers strikes throughout the year. Despite this Agnes obtained a first class pass but it was not easy. She is a very creative individual who is able to present vivid ideas through writing. However, she has a passion to be an accountant or run her own business in future. Agnes comes from a single parent family and her mother struggles to pay her fees due to unemployment.
“I no longer have to drop out of school since you have helped me and given me hope that I will achieve my goals in life. In future I would also like to make a difference and change people’s lives”
