On average over the past five years, we have sponsored 6 girls per year in Zambia.
The following story is from one of our beneficiaries, highlighting her ambition and the obstacles that prevented her from completing secondary school before she was sponsored.
To protect her identity, the name of the girl has been changed.
Ava’s Story
“With this sponsorship I will be education and become a better person in society”
Ava is the last born of four children and lived with her father until he passed away a few years ago.
Her mother also passed away prior to that and she now faces a major financial challenge as an orphan. Her older brother does not earn enough to cater for himself, Ava and their two sisters, so the CGEF sponsored her to ensure she is able to continue in school.
Ava is hardworking in class and always shows a keen interest to learn. She show exemplary behaviour and continues to perform well academically.
“My ambition is to study medicine. With this, I may one day be able to help other girl children who will need help.”
